Support the Cycle to Work Day on Thursday 4th September. More details of how you can involved at https://www.cycletoworkday.org/ Various bike shops (including Samways and Cyclomonster in Derby) are offering free bike checks over the next couple of weeks.

Advice from the police to avoid bike theft

The following advice has been sent out by Derbyshire police to help avoid cycle theft. Officers are encouraging residents to keep their bicycles secure to prevent being targeted by criminals. This can be accomplished by following the advice below.

Halfords offer free bike workshops for children

Over Easter Halfords are offering free workshops to show 7 to 11 year olds the basics of things to check on their bike. Spaces are limited so book soon. The Kingsway store currently has slots on Wed 16th and Wed 23rd April. See this link to book.

Raleigh history

Older members will remember the massive Raleigh factory in Nottingham that has now become the site of part of the University of Nottingham. Researchers have been collecting reminiscences from workers at the factory (and others) and have created a website containing many hours of filmed interviews and historical images here
