New cycle filter in Allestree
A new (small) piece of infrastructure opened this week in Allestree at the junction of Allestree Lane and Kedleston Road (outside the Markeaton pub). A “cut through” road has been restricted by narrowing, some bollards and legal restrictions to prevent motor traffic from using the cut-through. The Peak District National Park are currently asking for feedback on how to improve access for walking, cycling, disabled users, and horse riders. The deadline for feedback is 16th March 2025. Riverside Path upgrade now complete
Very pleased to see that the last section of the Riverside path upgrade has now been tarmacked.
An excellent job done by Derby City Council, their contractors and Sustrans.
The route was popular before but will be even more so now.

Chaddesden Mobility Hub
Plans for a “Mobility Hub” at the Nottingham Road shopping centre in Chaddesden provide an opportunity for various other enhancements.
The possibilities and the benefits are discussed.
Midland Road & Railway Terrace
Derby City Council consulted with the public back in 2022 on what should be done with Railway Terrace.
DCG provided feedback and some plans were changed.
We’ve now visited the finished scheme to look at the pros and cons.
