Cycling and the Derby City Core Strategy

You may have seen that the City Council has published its ideas for how Derby should develop over the next 15 years. This is called the draft Core Strategy and is available at this link.
It includes maps of proposed housing development, maybe including your neighbourhood. There are also policies covering various topics including cycling (see page 57 and onwards).
Comments need to be sent in by December 20th.
Please take a look and comment to the council (and copy to Tony Roelich, campaigns@derbycyclinggroup.org.uk, the DCG campaigns co-ordinator) with your thoughts on how the Core Strategy could be strengthened for cycling.
We hope to circulate more on this (depending on what you tell us!) in a week or so.
Voicing support for cycling to the City Council will help remind the Council to “think cyclists” more often.

Derby Core Strategy 2013 V1 gives a flavour of the issues that DCG will be raising with the council. Please let Tony Roelich know of any comments you might have.
