Congratulations to Nottingham on obtaining cycle funding

Nottingham City Council has secured £6.1 million from the D2N2 Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) process to invest in and kick start an overhaul of Nottingham’s cycle facilities. The funding is for 2 years starting in April 2015 through to March 2017.

Let’s see Derby City Council try and match our neighbours. The presence of the Velodrome in Derby should give us an advantage over other Midlands cities.

I am a regular cyclist and long term member of the DCG, although only active in the last 3 years. I've always enjoyed leisure cycling and have also commuted by cycle when my job has allowed. I am now a regular commuter by bike and bus. Previously undertook membership secretary and newsletter editor roles for the DCG and am now webmaster and treasurer.

  1. Looks like a brilliant job to be done in Nottingham, whilst very little appears to be happening in Derby.
Can we, Derby Cycling Group, make an official representation to Derby City Council on this matter and suggest that they do something similar for cycling here in Derby.
