You may be aware that Story Contracting has been carrying out essential works to the railway bridge which spans the river Derwent near Alvaston Park.
The works being undertaken include grit-blasting the existing paint, carrying out strengthening works and repainting.
The next stage of these works require the temporary closing of the riverside cycle path (National Cycle Network Route 6) under the bridge.
The closure will be from the week commencing Saturday 2nd March from 21:00 until Friday 26th April 17:00
A diversion route will be in place which we understand will be signposted throughout.
