School Leavers – consider Cycle Derby Cycling Academy

Something for school leavers who are keen on cycling to consider?

The Cycle Derby Cycling Academy programme gives aspiring young riders the opportunity to develop their cycling skills in a number of disciplines while studying academic qualifications in sport to enhance their career prospects.
The College’s partnership with Cycle Derby enables learners to benefit from the expertise of highly qualified and respected coaches, which enhances the cycling-focussed curriculum. Riders will have block weeks of developing their skills in track, bmx, cyclo-cross, road, mountain biking and TT, alongside coaching and bike maintenance workshops.

I am a regular cyclist and long term member of the DCG, although only active in the last 3 years. I've always enjoyed leisure cycling and have also commuted by cycle when my job has allowed. I am now a regular commuter by bike and bus. Previously undertook membership secretary and newsletter editor roles for the DCG and am now webmaster and treasurer.
