{"id":47700,"date":"2022-12-01T16:26:14","date_gmt":"2022-12-01T16:26:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/derbycyclinggroup.org.uk\/site\/?p=47700"},"modified":"2022-12-01T17:37:58","modified_gmt":"2022-12-01T17:37:58","slug":"egginton-bridge-flooding-works-work","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/derbycyclinggroup.org.uk\/site\/2022\/12\/egginton-bridge-flooding-works-work\/","title":{"rendered":"Egginton Bridge Flooding Works work"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The observant may have noticed works at Egginton Bridge (at the South Western end of the Mickleover Greenway) earlier this year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Users of the Mickleover Greenway over the winter period in previous years will have noticed that there is significant flooding which makes the route (part of the National Cycle Network) unusable (as in above image).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After investigation I was told that the work had been done by Derbyshire County Council Countryside Rangers who identified the problems as being a collapsed pipe which was meant to take any flood waters to a small pond 200m away but which wasn&#8217;t functioning as it should. The pipe was completely replaced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><a href=\"https:\/\/derbycyclinggroup.org.uk\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/egginton-1.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"385\" src=\"https:\/\/derbycyclinggroup.org.uk\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/egginton-1-1024x385.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-47703\" srcset=\"https:\/\/derbycyclinggroup.org.uk\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/egginton-1-1024x385.jpeg 1024w, https:\/\/derbycyclinggroup.org.uk\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/egginton-1-300x113.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/derbycyclinggroup.org.uk\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/egginton-1-768x289.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/derbycyclinggroup.org.uk\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/egginton-1-1536x578.jpeg 1536w, https:\/\/derbycyclinggroup.org.uk\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/egginton-1-1568x590.jpeg 1568w, https:\/\/derbycyclinggroup.org.uk\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/egginton-1.jpeg 1920w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The recent wet weather was a good test of whether the work had been successful and I can report that it was!
