Derby Cycling Group and other active travel organisations campaigned hard to get some schemes created. What was delivered was sometimes not ideal because of their emergency nature, however they have created safe space for those who need it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There is now a risk that the City Council may start to remove them. However, we want the City Council to start a process of improving those schemes where needed with the objective of making them permanent: &#8220;Improve, not Remove&#8221; is our mantra. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Today we have published the open letter below encouraging the council leaders to take this approach.
