The Breadsall Greenway

Work is now complete on the construction of a further extension to the greenway, which is Route 672 of the NCN.
See it on video  or via my blog “Two Wheels and a Camera” at

You can ride almost all the way off-road from Derby City Centre, via Pentagon Island (Toucan crossings), and Racecourse Park, picking up the Breadsall Greenway alongside the Paddock PH on the A608.

The Breadsall Greenway is one of our most scenic local off-road routes, under 3 miles long, and has a few gradients but well worth the effort.

  1. An excellent video Les, and the new route looks very enticing. It looks like it is a really useful link onto the lanes around Morley and Stanley, avoiding the A608. Got to try it soon.

    1. I believe it may be a while as the funding for the next phase is still to be found and the current restrictions on local council spending means it will probably be a while until money becomes available. Certainly, when I’ve asked this question of Derbyshire Council people, this is the answer I get – i.e. no specific dates set and dependent on funding.

  2. The breadsall greenway is great shame regards the dog owners leaving A mess at the paddock pub end put some cameras up
